Aiming to help the forestry in Kosovo, Geo&Land is working in a project by FAO of UN to develop an IT tool for Kosovo Forest Agency to effectively and efficiently manage information to carry out their mandate. Throughout this project, several modules are to be delivered. In each of these modules a specific functionality for the IT tool is developed, the total of which, in the end, will produce a functional forestry managing system.
Application for expropriation of immovable property was realized based on CAD and GIS softwares, which enables digital maps creation and statistical analysis data. First phase of the project was to define area of expropriation. Also it was necessary to collect all cadastral data for those parcels and develop a GIS application to produce numerous of forms and maps.
In this project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Geo & Land is working on creating a cadastre system for management of vineyards and wine industry of Kosovo, through JAVA technology in the platform WEB/GIS. This system will enable integration of data of all tenants and wine industry in a unique database. In order to facilitate management and efficient data for cadastre of vineyards all over Kosovo, the so-called KaveKO application was created, which is based on a web platform that allows access even from a distance.
WEB KaveKO application displays the vineyard management database by portraying it textually and graphically simultaneously.
The main stages of the whole process for implementing the project were:
Geo&Land has recently taken on a project from Kosovo Forest Agency. In the course of this project, Geo&Land will have to research on the existing forest plots and digitalize the data about these plots. The boundaries will have to be determined based on the latest cadastral records on public properties. In addition, Geo&Land will be in charge to create a booklet for Kosovo Forest Agency in which it will present its finding and evaluate past management plans.
